Keith Hoffman In Memorium
I met Keith online on December 21, 1998.  I was browsing around on the internet when an email arrived saying  "Hi.  My name is Keith.  I found your photo and email address on an old website and wanted to write to you...   But I am probably too young for you." "How old are you,?",  I asked "I'm 24," he replied "Well, don't let that stop you," I replied. Now that was weird.  At the time  I was 44 years old and I had always refused to chat with anyone under the age of 40.   Back then we used yahoo messenger which was the best messaging service at the time..  Between  that day, December 21 and January 8, 1999 we exchanged over 4,000 emails.  Almost nonstop messaging ...  We even joked that the RCMP and FBI were probably watching us... On January 10, 1999 we met and spent the weekend in Niagara Falls, Ontario, staying at the Embassy Suites Hotel.      January 9/10, 1999 was the snowstorm of the century and as it happened Keith took 8 hours to get from Columbus, Ohio to Buffalo, New York by bus.   He arrived at 11pm at night and had no way to get to Canada at that hour.     I was already in Niagara Falls so I hopped in my car and drove through the storm to Buffalo, picked him up and drove back to Niagara Falls.   We were the only car on the road, as I remember...  and we so astonished the Border guard when passing through that he didn't even ask any questions..   LOL    He just said  "GO!!!"   So, anyway we spent the weekend in Niagara Falls and that started a romance that lasted two years...   More about our story in the blog section of this Memorial
