In the Wink of an Eye - a novelette
A brief novel about a youth who tries to go back in time and relive his University years...  not realizing that age is more than facial appearance. This novelette - I call it that because it is short - was written in 1976 before the appearance of the Night Rider series on television and the current series about  a 40 year old woman pretending to be in her 20s to restart her career. I had been living in Toronto for three years and I just felt the need to go out and try my wings as an actor and an author.    I quit my comfortable job to do that and during that time, which lasted about 11 months, I wrote this novelette...   it just poured out of me,  written in pencil on a pad of paper as I lay in bed in my bachelor suite at the Manulife Center Apartments.. While the locations and scenery are real, that activities that occurred are totally imaginary.. During that same time I hit the pavement looking for acting work...     My blogs section here will retell some of those experiences.. Then, 11 months after I left the job I returned... and lo and behold it was as if they knew I would be back.   My boss at the time  at the Ministry of Housing where I worked, Marilyn Janes, Director of Audit for the Ministry of Housing held my position open...  and I walked back in when I was ready.
